BNL Barbecue is composed of our Pitmaster Jerry and his wife Lupe. Jerry started BBQ'in in 2005 after becoming curious about BBQ from seeing Travel shows that showcased BBQ around the U.S. Slowly his BBQ improved to the point he felt he could go out and compete with the goal of one day earning a BBQ award. In 2012, Jerry and Lupe entered the world of Professional BBQ Competitions and in that year they won their 1st and 2nd Grand Championships, something rarely accomplished by a first year team. That year they also became California's Rookie Team of the Year for edging out all other new teams in all 4 meat categories.
BNL or Burnin and Lootin as they're known in competitions went on to win 19 Grand Championships and 16 Reserve Grand Championships as well as two trips to the prestigious Jack Daniel's BBQ World Championship Invitational in Lynchburg TN.
In 2019 BNL took their BBQ down under, by winning a trip to compete at the Brew N' Que Competition in Perth, Western Australia where they finished top 5 in Chicken, Ribs, and Pork, earning them a 3rd Overall finish.
In 2019, the California legislature passed a bill to allow home cooks to lawfully turn their home kitchens into a permitted restaurant (Known as a Microenterprise Home Kitchen Operation). In 2020, after the pandemic began and all competitions were cancelled, BNL decided to keep cooking and sell their BBQ as a permtted home restaurant featuring our mouth watering BBQ available for local pick up.
